The Africa Real Estate Festival Is in Accra This Month. Here’s What You Need to Know.

Africa’s property industry is descending on Accra in ten days. Whether you’re looking to buy, build, or just understand what’s actually happening in this market, AREF 2026 is worth paying attention to.

The Africa Real Estate Festival runs April 18–19 at The Palms Convention Centre, Accra. Entry is free. You register online, show up, and get two days of panels, exhibitions, and the kind of networking that doesn’t happen at smaller local events.

What It Is

AREF positions itself as the continent’s annual gathering for property, investment, and urban development. This year’s theme is Innovation Meets Identity: Designing Africa’s Next Living Experience — which is a long way of saying: how do African cities build more housing, better housing, and housing that actually reflects the people living in it.

The organisers are projecting 1,500+ delegates and 100+ exhibitors from over 30 countries. That’s not a local industry breakfast. Developers, investors, policymakers, architects, and tech companies all in one room for two days is genuinely useful if you know what you want from it.

Who Should Go

If you’re actively buying or investing in Ghana property in 2026, this is a free opportunity to meet developers, see live project exhibitions, and ask questions that you’d normally only get answered through a sales rep. The exhibition floor tends to be where the real information lives.

If you work in the industry — agent, developer, financier, contractor — the networking case is obvious. Thirty countries of exhibitors means there are people in that room you won’t encounter anywhere else.

If you’re casually curious about the market, it’s still worth a few hours. These events move public conversation about housing in ways that end up mattering to ordinary buyers and renters, even if the rooms are full of suits.

The VIP Question

General attendance is free. If you want the full access experience, AREF Prime tiers are available: Silver at $300, Gold at $350, and Elite at $500, all payable in GHS via Paystack. The Elite tier includes a VIP dinner with speakers and dignitaries. The Silver tier gets you preferential seating, event media access, and networking access to speakers and government officials.

Worth it? Depends entirely on what deals you’re trying to make.

How to Register

Head to africarealestatefestival.com/register for free general registration. VIP tickets are at aref-prime.

The festival starts in ten days. If you’re going, register now.
